Our first night’s sleep on a ship was great! Peter and I decided to try out the gym before breakfast.
Using a treadmill and an elliptical trainer on a ship does not go very well! The motion of the ship rocking from side to side while you are attempting to run made us both nauseous. Not a good start!
But we managed to make it to breakfast. After meeting up with Chloe and Silvia we decided to head to the dining room for breakfast instead of braving the buffet on the Lido deck.
As it was the first day at sea we had to get our sea legs. Peter and I both felt very dizzy and a bit nauseous all day.
The ship had an Art Auction everyday which Silvia made a beeline to.
So Silvia & Kylie went off to experience an art auction. We got to look at the pictures first and there were some really nice paintings. Kylie had never been to an art auction before. It is very fast paced and half the time we couldn’t understand what the man was saying!

While Silvia and Kylie were at the Art Auction, Chloe and Peter were soaking up some rays and enjoying the pool on the Serenity deck, where we joined them after the art auction and managed to snaffle a cabana (which didn’t happen again for the rest of the trip by the way! Cabanas were very popular, get there early if you want one).

Kylie and Peter went back to their room to rest while Silvia and Chloe wondered around the ship.
As mentioned previously the ship’s decor is Art Nouveau, with some very lovely features such as beautiful glassware, light fixtures etc.
